Despite the economic hardship and increasing inflation, Pakistan witnessed an increase in car sales for the month of November 2022 as per the latest sales figures released by Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA).
According to the details, Pakistan witnessed an increased of 36% in car sales for the month of November 2022 compared to the previous month (October 2022).
The automotive industry sold a combined number of 18,391 units in November 2022 compared to just 12,502 vehicles the previous month of October 2022, which is a month-on-month (MoM) increase of 36% or 5,889 more vehicles.
According to the report, Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) has been more successful than any other company during November as it was able to sell 12,400 units compared to just 8,003 units in October, which is an increase of 55%.

On the other hand, Honda Atlas stands at second place with an increase of 38% in sales for November 2022 compared to previous month of October 2022. As per the report, Honda Atlas managed to sell 1,973 units last month of November compared to just 1,425 units in October, which was mainly because of newly introduced Honda HR-V.
Meanwhile, other automotive companies were not as lucky to witness such high increases in sales last month. According to the report, Toyota’s Indus Motor Company (IMC) witnessed a decline in sales by 4% for the month of November 2022 compared to previous month of October 2022.
Toyota Pakistan only managed to sell 3,342 cars last month against 3,374 cars the month before. This may be because the company has suspended bookings for some of its models due to restrictions on CKD imports by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
Hyundai Nishat Motors shared a similar fate with a decline of 9% in sales for November 2022 compared to previous month of October 2022. According to the report, Hyundai Nishat Motors managed to sell just 441 units in November compared to 486 in October 2022.
Meanwhile, other automotive manufacturers like Kia Lucky Motors, Master Changan Motors, Regal Automobiles, Al-Haj Proton, and MG Motors are not included in the report as they are not members of Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA).
