United Auto Industries is preparing to launch 1000cc Chery QQ in Pakistan as the United Alpha and the car is expected to have the exact same specifications as its Chinese counterpart.
It is pertinent to mention that the Chinese hatchback was previously launched in Pakistan by Karakoram Motors in 2005 but failed to compete with the Suzuki Mehran and Daihatsu Cuore, two vehicles which dominated the hatchback segment.
However, it has been revealed that the same vehicle is now making a comeback in in Pakistan as a rebadged United Alpha which is set to launch on 2nd January 2021.
The vehicle will be assembled by United Auto Industries in the country to take advantage of the Auto Development Authority (ADP) 2016-21, which was launched by the Federal Government to attract foreign investment and create competition in the auto-sector and break the monopoly of the BIG3 (Suzuki, Honda and Toyota).
