Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan Limited (HACPL) has announced a delay in car deliveries as Pakistan’s automotive industry goes through its most difficult time due to supply-chain issues and the current economic situation.
The company has issued a notification informing customers about delays in car deliveries that is being caused by issues pertaining to obtaining Letter of Credit (LCs) for import of Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kits as well as a global shortage of semiconductor chips.
“The current economic situation of Pakistan has a perplexing impact on automobile industry, instigating extreme difficulties in its operations.” stated the company. “Constrains of LC approval and global shortage of IC Chips are the main challenges the auto industry is passing through, causing interruptions in the smooth production.” it added.
It said that such unavoidable circumstances are making it difficult to meet the set scheduled car delivery timelines and unfortunately, the company would have to revise the delivery dates for their vehicles. Furthermore, Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan Limited (HACPL) apologized for the inconvenience and delay in car deliveries.
Toyota Announces Delay in Deliveries
It is pertinent to mention that Toyota’s Indus Motor Company (IMC) has announced delay in car deliveries to customers as well for already booked orders. According to the details, Toyota Pakistan is unable to meet the timeline of car deliveries because of the LC approval constraints for CKD imports and drastic devaluation of the PKR against USD.
