Aito, a joint venture between Huawei and Seres, has introduced the M9 SUV in China. This flagship 6-seater electric SUV boasts premium features, including Huawei technology, multiple screens, and projectors for an immersive experience. The design showcases modern styling with adaptive matrix LED technology in its headlights.
The M9’s interior resembles a high-tech cinema, featuring a 32-inch retractable panel, laser projector, and various screens throughout the cabin. The dashboard mirrors Mercedes’ hyperscreen, housing a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch central infotainment screen, and a 16-inch front passenger screen. Rear passengers get four tablets, and the entire system runs on Huawei’s HarmonyOS 4. An impressive 25-speaker, 2,080W audio system with active noise reduction technology enhances the audio experience.
The SUV’s layout is adjustable, with a gallery showcasing a double bed configuration. Safety is a priority, with 27 sensors and the Huawei ADS 2.0 system. Aito offers two powertrains for the M9: a fully electric option (BEV) with dual electric motors producing 390kW and a 97.7kWh battery pack delivering a range of 630km, and a range-extender (EREV) with a turbo-charged 1.5-liter engine and dual electric motors producing 365kW. The EREV’s 42kWh/52kWh CATL battery provides a combined range of up to 1,402km.
Priced between 469,800 yuan ($65,725) and 569,800 yuan ($79,715) in China, the Aito M9 offers a luxurious and technologically advanced driving experience. However, global availability plans have not been disclosed, and the earliest deliveries are expected in early 2024. The M9 positions itself as a unique and versatile vehicle, blending cutting-edge technology, comfort, and safety features for the Chinese market.
