Hyundai Nishat Motors Private Limited (HNMPL) is all set to launch the Hyundai Elantra 1.6L variant in Pakistan by the end of April 2022. According to PakWheels, the new variant of the Hyundai Elantra will be launched something before Eid-ul-Fitr, but an exact date is yet to be announced by the company.
It bears mentioning that Hyundai Nishat Motors have already launched the Hyundai Elantra with a 2.0L engine capacity, which received a good response from customers. However, the vehicle was in a category of its own as competition like the Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic had smaller engines.
The Hyundai Elantra 1.6L will help the company take a bigger chunk of the market as well as compete with the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla in a better way as the previous variant of the sedan was much more expensive than the competition because of the higher capacity engine.
Features
The exact changes to the Hyundai Elantra 1.6L have not been made official but one thing is for sure and it is that everything under the hood will be different since it is going to have a 1.6L engine instead of the 2.0L in the current Elantra. However, the vehicle will reportedly carry over all the features from the 2.0L variant with just minor changes to interior like the instrument cluster and infotainment system.
Hyundai Elantra 1.6L Price in Pakistan
The expected price of the Hyundai Elantra 1.6L in Pakistan is Rs. 4 million, which would allow the vehicle to better compete with the Toyota Corolla. However, the vehicle’s expected price is a lot cheaper than the Honda Civic 11th Generation that might give Hyundai an edge as well.

Hyundai Elantra 2.0L was launched in March 2021 and the company has sold more than 2,700 units of the vehicle in a year, which means that it has received a good response from the consumers and the addition of the 1.6L variant will only help get a bigger share of the market.
Suspension of Bookings
Meanwhile, there are many manufacturers in the automotive industry who have suspended their bookings because of the unstable rate of Pakistani currency against US Dollar. Toyota’s Indus Motor Company (IMC) and Kia Lucky Motors have both suspended bookings because of the unstable rate of US Dollar amid the political turmoil in the country.
