Hyundai Nishat Motors Private Limited (HNMPL) has announced a massive increase in the price of Hyundai Tucson in Pakistan because of the constant devaluation of Pakistani Rupee (PKR) against the US Dollar (USD) as the local currency falls to an historic low of Rs. 226.81 on July 21.
“Given the current macroeconomic indicators which have led to significant depreciation of PKR against US dollars as well as increasing costs of inputs thereby making it difficult for us to hold the current RSPs.” the company said in a notification. “Unfortunately, we are compelled to pass on partial impact to the customers.” the company added.
It added that capital value tax (CVT) also needs to be collected with effect from July 1.
