Hyundai Nishat Motor (Private) Limited has temporarily stopped the booking for Hyundai Tucson and addressed the issue of ‘Delayed Delivery’ which is being faced by several automakers due to the coronavirus pandemic disrupting the supply chain.
The company has issued a statement on social media informing customers that they might face delayed delivery of their Hyundai Tucson because of a global shortage of a particular semi-conductor microchip required in the production of every vehicle.
“Due to the aftermath of COVID-19, Hyundai Nishat Motor (Private) Limited, as well as numerous other companies are facing international logistical obstacles. This is majorly due to the scarcity of a particular semi-conductor microship, which is an essential part in every TUCSON.” said the statement by Hyundai Nishat Motors.
Hyundai Nishat has closed the booking for Hyundai Tucson to focus on delivery to those customers who have already booked their vehicles.
“We have already temporarily halted our bookings and our priority remains those TUCSON customers who have already booked their vehicles.” the statement reads.
The issue of delayed delivery is being faced by several other manufacturers not just in Pakistan but globally due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and subsequent lockdowns worldwide.
KIA Lucky Motors has also addressed the issue of delayed car deliveries being caused by the pandemic. The company also stated that customers affected will be compensated for their patience, however, it remains unclear what the company means by this compensation.
