Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC) has taken to social media and teased the launch of the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid in Pakistan, the automotive company’s first-ever locally-assembled hybrid vehicle.
According to reports, Indus Motor Company (IMC) is all set to launch the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid in Pakistan next month. However, the company has not announced an exact date or information regarding the development, except for the short teaser released on social media.
It is pertinent to mention that two test units of the locally assembled Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid were spotted on the streets of Karachi a few months ago. Although, it has remained very quiet regarding any other developments on the matter.
Toyota Pakistan was expected to launch the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid in the first-half (Q1) of 2023 but the company ended up cancelling their plans temporarily due to some operational and production challenges amid the country’s poor economic situation.
This addition to Toyota’s lineup is much-welcomed by automotive enthusiasts as it will provide a much more-fuel efficient alternative to conventional vehicles since hybrid vehicles are equipped with two sources of power, a petrol engine and an electric motor.
Unlike EVs, hybrid vehicles do not require to be plugged-in for charging as the battery is capable of getting charged by the engine, which removes any inconvenience of having to locate a charging station.
Coming towards the price of the locally-assembled Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid in Pakistan, the company hasn’t revealed any information about the vehicle. We’ll have to wait and see for the actual launch to get exact details of the specifications and pricing.
