In a recent announcement, inDrive has disclosed a strategic partnership with Vlektra, an electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, aiming to integrate electric bikes into its ride-hailing fleet in Pakistan.
This collaboration positions inDrive as the trailblazer among ride-hailing companies in the country to embrace electric vehicles, marking a significant advancement in Pakistan’s transportation sector. The move is viewed as a pivotal milestone in the nation’s efforts towards a sustainable future, prioritizing emission reduction and environmental awareness.
Roman Ermoshin, Director of the APAC region at inDrive, conveyed excitement about the collaboration, stating, “This partnership signifies our collective commitment to introducing electric bikes, propelling a substantial shift towards a cleaner, more eco-conscious future in the region.”
Fatiq Bin Khursheed, Co-founder of Vlektra, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that the partnership represents a pioneering step in Pakistan’s ride-hailing landscape by introducing electric vehicles for sustainable mobility. The primary goal of the collaboration is to contribute to emission reduction and promote eco-friendly transportation alternatives.
It’s worth noting that inDrive, established in 2013, is a global ride-hailing platform operating in more than 450 cities across 46 countries. The platform empowers customers to set fares based on real-time demand and market conditions, ensuring a transparent pricing system beneficial for both passengers and drivers.
On the other hand, Vlektra, founded in 2021, is a Pakistani startup specializing in providing eco-friendly and sustainable electric vehicle solutions. Committed to reducing Pakistan’s carbon footprint, Vlektra offers a range of electric bikes and scooters designed for everyday use, contributing to the promotion of sustainable mobility through innovative EV technology.
