Lucky Motor Corporation (LMC) has resumed bookings for its best-selling KIA cars after a short suspension of two-weeks. Earlier this month, the company announced that bookings for its best-selling KIA vehicles, which include KIA Picanto, KIA Sportage, CKD Kia Stonic, will be suspended for an indefinite period.
However, the company continued the booking for its Complete Built Units (CBUs) like Kia Stonic, Kia Sorento, and Kia Grand Carnival. Lucky Motor Corporation (LMC) did not mention any reason behind its decision for suspension of booking for its best selling KIA cars.
The company has now reopened booking for its best-selling KIA cars at their new prices, which were announced a few days ago. It is safe to assume that KIA stopped bookings because of the unstable market conditions, including the rise in costs of shipping and soaring operational costs with the constant devaluation of the Pakistani Rupee against the US Dollar (USD to PKR).
It is pertinent to mention that KIA was not the only one to suspend bookings as Toyota’s Indus Motor Company (IMC) announced the same decision citing the above reasons. The company has also reopened bookings for its vehicles since the suspension.
