Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC) is planning to launch the locally assembled variant of the Toyota Corolla Cross in Pakistan next year instead of December due to the current economic situation of the country. According to PakWheels, the locally assembled variant of the Toyota Corolla Cross is expected to launch in Mid-2023.
Earlier, the company was expected to launch the locally assembled variant of the vehicle by December 2022, however, the current economic crisis coupled with constant devaluation of the Pakistani Rupee against the US Dollar (USD to PKR) has delayed the company’s plan.
It is pertinent to mention that Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC) had launched the Toyota Corolla Cross in Pakistan as a CBU in three different variants, including a base model with limited features, a mid-tier model and a top-tier or their flagship model with the most features.
Engine and Transmission
Toyota Corolla Cross comes with a 1.8L engine that produces 98hp and 142Nm of torque. Additionally, the SUV is also equipped with an electric motor that works in conjunction with the gasoline engine and produces 72hp with 163Nm of torque. Furthermore, the vehicle comes with an Electronically controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (ECVT).
Features
The top and mid-tier models of Toyota Corolla Cross are equipped with a cruise control system and rain sensing wipers, however, the base model lacks these features as it is only equipped with basic functionality. Furthermore, the top-tier variant also features a sunroof, which is missing from the two lower variants.
There are leather seats found in the top-tier variant of the Toyota Corolla Cross, however, the base and mid-tier models come with simple fabric seats. Furthermore, the top-tier model offers a power-adjustable driver seat.
Dual-Zone Climate Control with rear AC vents is available in the mid and top-tier variants of the Corolla Cross in Pakistan. However, the base variant only comes with Single-Zone Climate Control and no rear AC vents.
