Despite the current economic situation and hardships faced by the automotive industry, Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC) maybe gearing up to launch the locally-assembled variant of the Toyota Corolla Cross in Pakistan.
Recently, a test unit of the locally-assembled Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid was spotted on the streets of Karachi with a black and blue wrap. While the company has not announced anything regarding the vehicle, the road-testing hints that a launch may be imminent.
It is pertinent to mention that Toyota Pakistan was expected to launch the locally-assembled Toyota Corolla Cross in the first half (Q1) of 2023, but the company faced some operational and production challenges amid the country’s worsening economic situation.
However, Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC) has not made any official announcement and it remains unlikely that a launch will take place considering the current situation of the automotive industry and deteriorating economy.
Furthermore, it would be unwise to speculate a launch price for the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid due to depreciation of the local currency and economic situation.
