Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) plans to introduce the new Suzuki Swift this year as the local automaker plans to discontinue to the second generation of the vehicle, which was launched back in 2010 and received an overwhelming response while still holding its own in the hatchback segment today.
It was previously reported that PSMC plans to discontinue the current generation of the Suzuki Swift by August 2021 after producing 668 DLX NAV and 2423 AT NAV variants with plans to reveal the newer model (4th Generation) of the hatchback during the second quarter of the current calendar year while the vehicle is reported to go on sale by the end of the year.
The company like always still plans to launch the older 4th generation of the Suzuki Swift in Pakistan which was introduced globally back in 2016 with a facelift being introduced with minor changes in 2020. However, the reports suggest that Pakistan will get the pre-facelift variant of the hatchback vehicle.
Furthermore, the company has not revealed any information regarding the specification and features that will be present in the new Suzuki Swift but it is expected that the vehicle will be powered by a 1.2L 4-cylinder K12M engine. producing 82 hp and 113 Nm of torque.
It is pertinent to mention that the hatchback comes with a 5-speed manual transmission or 5-speed Auto Gear Shift (AGS) transmission system. However, we will have to wait until an official announcement by the company regarding the launch of the vehicle in Pakistan to get a better idea regarding the exact specifications of the vehicle.
