Regal Automobiles may be planning to enter the EV segment as their Prince DFSK official social media handle teased the DFSK Mini EV 2023 for Pakistan.
The company shared a picture with a glimpse of the rear and a caption that read, “Charged with the innovation, ready to let you experience the perfect combination of performance and power.”
However, the company provided no further details regarding the vehicle or a launch window, which may be hard considering the current economic conditions and restrictions on import of CKD kits.
As for the Prince DFSK Mini EV 2023, the vehicle comes in multiple variants internationally, which are detailed below:
Variant – Battery | Motor | Range | Power | Charge Time (Hours) |
---|---|---|---|---|
E2 – 9.18kWh | Single Motor | 120 km | 25 hp/100 Nm | 4-5 |
E4 – 13.8kWh | Single Motor | 180 km | 25 hp/100 Nm | 5.5-6.5 |
E4 – 16.8kWh | Single Motor | 220 km | 30 hp/100 Nm | 7-7.5 |
Furthermore, the company claims that the DFSK Mini EV is capable of achieving 0-50km/h in just 5.1s, which is impressive for its size.
If Regal Automobiles decides to launch the Prince DFSK Mini EV 2023 in Pakistan, it would compete in the budget segment and go up as an electric alternative of the Suzuki Alto or its very own, the Prince Pearl.
However, the price of the vehicle will likely be over Rs. 2.5 million considering the current economic conditions and depreciating currency. While, there are source claiming the car may be launched for Rs. 1.5 million, it is highly unlikely.
Meanwhile, Kia Lucky Motor Corporation (KLMC) also teased their Niro EV’s launch in Pakistan last month, but the company has not revealed any further details about the vehicle. However, the company did the car on display at various dealerships in Karachi.
