The automatic variant of Prince Pearl is going to launch soon in Pakistan as the vehicle is currently being tested by the company, revealed a dealership in Lahore.
Originally scheduled for April, the launch of the Prince Pearl Automatic Variant was postponed due to economic crisis that followed and restriction on the imports of Completely Built Units (CBUs) and Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kits by automotive companies.
According to a dealership in Lahore, the launch of the Prince Pearl Automatic Variant is back on track and it is expected to launch soon in Pakistan as it is currently in the process of being tested by the company. However, the source did not reveal an exact date for the launch of the new variant.
The Prince Pearl Automatic Variant is going to compete with Suzuki Alto AGS, but the vehicle is going to be priced much lower than its competition, which is going to give it an edge during these hard times. Furthermore, this is going to be the only vehicle in the 800cc category to have an automatic transmission.
Furthermore, the dealership also said that it might be possible to convert already manual variants of Prince Pearl to Automatic by paying for the parts and labor. According to the details, it might cost around Rs. 300,000 to Rs. 400,000 for the conversion but we do have to wait for the launch to get the actual rates.
Engine and Transmission
The automatic variant of Prince Pearl will carry the same 796cc engine, which is found in the manual transmission variant of the vehicle, but with an 3-speed automatic gearbox. The 3-cylinder engine is capable of producing 40 horsepower (hp) and 60 Newton metres (Nm) of Torque.
Features
The exact features for the Prince Pearl Automatic Variant are yet to be confirmed by the company, but it reasonable to assume that the automatic variant will carry over all the current features from the manual variant even if it doesn’t provide any additional ones.
The vehicle is expected to come with power windows, DRLs, a 9-inch LCD touchscreen, rearview camera, alloy-wheels and other similar features from the manual variant of the vehicle. The company might make the driver’s side airbag standard in the automatic variant, which is currently an option feature in the manual variant.
Prince Pearl Automatic Price in Pakistan
The expected price of Prince Pearl Automatic Variant in Pakistan is Rs. 1.9 million, which is reasonable considering the manual variant is priced at Rs. 1.7 million. This makes the automatic variant of the vehicle much cheaper than the Suzuki Alto AGS, which costs over Rs. 2.0 million.
