Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) has witnessed a massive drop in sales, especially for its best-selling vehicle, the Suzuki Alto, in Pakistan. According to the latest sales report by Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), PSMC saw an alarming drop in the number sales during the last month.

This wasn’t the only vehicle that saw a massive drop in the number of sales for the company as almost every other car has witnessed the same fate, including Suzuki Cultus, which sold just 543 units in January compared to 1,057 units in December 2022, making for a month-on-month drop of 49% in sales.
Similarly, the Suzuki Wagon R witnessed a drop of 23% in sales, which means that company sold only 674 units of the vehicle during the last month as compared to 872 units the month before (December 2022).
Suzuki Swift, which is considered the company’s flagship product, also witnessed a massive drop in sales as it sold only 504 units during January 2023 compared to 1,428 units in December 2022, which means a drop of 65% in sales.
However, Suzuki Bolan was the only vehicle under Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) that saw a hike in sales figures as it was able to sell 556 units in January 2022 compared just 464 units in December 2022.
Reason For Drop in Sales
The hike in prices by Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) can be one factor for such low sales during January, but the company’s production did remain closed for more than half of the month due to shortage of inventory caused by import restrictions.
Therefore, the price hike may just be one reason with several other factors contributing towards the low sales figures. Furthermore, the company has also increased the price of its vehicles twice in a period of 14 days.
