Engine & Transmission
As previously stated, the Toyota Fortuner TRD mostly has changes on the exterior while offering the same 1GD 2.8L Diesel engine currently found in the Sigma4 variant.
The new variant comes with 6 speed automatic transmission together with peddle shifters.
Exterior
This is where we get to see some new changes in the latest Toyota Fortuner. The new variant includes the following additions:
- 18″ TRD Alloy Wheels
- Front Bumper with TRD Spoiler
- Rear Bumper with TRD Spoiler
- TRD Lower Grille Cover with Black Gloss and TRD Branding
- TRD Side Tape Strip
- TRD Emblem
Interior
The interior offered in the new variant is more or less similar to other Toyota Fortuner variants being offered by Indus Motor Company (IMC) especially the Sigma4.
Safety
Again, the Toyota Fortuner TRD offers exactly the same safety features as other variants which include dual airbags for the front driver and passenger along with features like Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Emergency Brake Signal and Hill Assist Control.
What’s surprising is that the company has significantly increased with price for just the TRD branding while not even adding some additional safety especially when compared to the upcoming MG Motors HS and ZS EV SUVs in Pakistan where the UK based car manufacturer is offering six airbags instead of the two which is a standard in Pakistan.
