Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC) has announced that it will be shutting down production of all vehicles from 1st February 2023 to 14th February 2023 due to shortage of inventory.
According to the details, the company has announced that it is still facing issues importing raw materials for production of vehicles and banks are hesitating to clear consignments.
Furthermore, the company has announced that when production resumes on 15th February 2023, it will be done on a single shift basis until further notice.
The decision means that many people who had booked vehicles from Toyota Pakistan may face delay in their deliveries as Indus Motor Company (IMC) is the sole producer and distributor of Toyota vehicles in Pakistan.
In a notification, the company talking about the recent policies being implemented by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) said, “This has disrupted the entire supply chain and the vendors are unable to supply raw materials and components to the company. Accordingly, the company has insufficient inventory levels, therefore, the company is unable to continue its production activities.”
It is pertinent to mention that this development comes shortly after Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC) raised prices of all its vehicles in Pakistan.
