The price of the Toyota Prado in Pakistan has seen a insane hike due to increase in the General Sales Tax (GST) as well as Federal Excise Duty (FED) on imported automobiles aka Completely Built Units (CBUs).
The Government of Pakistan has raised General Sales Tax (GST) on all products from 17% to 18%, while luxury products will now be charged GST at the rate of 25%. Meanwhile, the Government has also increased the Federal Excise Duty (FED) on imported vehicles.

It is pertinent to mention that Toyota Prado is not the only CBU that has seen a price hike in Pakistan, but Indus Motor Company (IMC) has also raised the price of the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 ZX, another offering by the company in the SUV segment.

Apart from the imported lineup being offered by Indus Motor Company (IMC), the company has also raised prices of locally assembled or Completely Knocked Down (CKD) units due to increase in the General Sales Tax (GST).
