Volkswagen and Skoda SUVs are expected to launch in Pakistan by mid-2023 as per an announcement made by Premier Motors Limited (PML) on Thursday. The Volkswagen Group has now penned an agreement with Premier Motors Limited (PML) to assemble its vehicles in Pakistan.
“Volkswagen Group, known for its attention to detail and emphasis on product safety and quality, plans to enter CKD assembly with Premier Motors Limited in a cutting-edge, fully integrated production plant,” said PML in a statement regarding the development.
“This plant will mark the entry of locally assembled Skoda and Volkswagen premium cars for the first time in the country.” the company added. “The plant is situated in Hub, Balochistan, with a capacity of 30,000 vehicles per annum. The construction of the plant began in July 2021 and it is going on with full swing,”
Furthermore, the company has appointed AKD Securities Limited as its financial adviser for achieving financial close of its Completely Knocked Down (CKD) Assembly Plant Project in Pakistan.
Volkswagen and Skoda SUVs in Pakistan will create more competition in the market, which is always healthy and encourage other car manufacturers to provide better quality and features in their vehicles as well as competitive pricing in the local market.
