Xiaomi has unveiled its new electric car, the SU7, and is addressing customer inquiries about it. Notably, Xiaomi has stated that they currently have no intentions of selling the SU7 outside of China. However, for Chinese consumers interested in purchasing it, local Xiaomi stores can provide information regarding any available purchase subsidies.
For charging options, Xiaomi offers home charging piles in two models: 7kW and 11kW, with the higher-powered option recommended for the SU7 Max. The home charging package includes equipment and basic installation services within 30 meters of cables, but this service is limited to mainland China.
Regarding connectivity, connecting phones to the car is simple. Most Android phones can connect via CarLink for navigation, music, phone calls, and other features displayed on the car’s central control screen. Additionally, Android phones can wirelessly stream audio and video through DLNA. For iPad users, a special expansion bracket allows mounting on the back of the front seat, and the “Xiaomi Auto Expansion Screen” app permits control over car features directly from the iPad.
Xiaomi clarified the industry standard for measuring acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h, noting that media outlets may include starting time in their measurements, leading to slight variations in reported numbers. They provided an example where the SU7 Max measured 3.09 seconds in media testing compared to the official 2.78 seconds. Warranty coverage extends beyond the first owner, and maintenance costs are estimated to be around 480 yuan for the first year or 20,000 kilometers, increasing to 750 yuan and 1400 yuan for the second and third years, respectively.
