Rupee has lost Rs. 0.26 against AED on 7 February 2023, now reaching Rs. 75.21 at the end of the business, as per the State Bank of Pakistan.
The rupee remains very unstable with people opting to buy foreign currencies with their savings to lessen the impact of inflation, which has reached record high in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the business community continues to struggle as well with industry facing shutdowns due to inability to import raw materials as restrictions to save foreign exchange remain in place.
The automotive industry being the most affected as plants remain shut and people’s buying power has significantly reduced.
