Although the current automotive industry in Pakistan is going through somewhat of a crisis with a huge drop in sales compared to the last year. There are still talks of some new cars that are going to be released in Pakistan in 2020.
According to ProPakistani, they have compiled a list of cars that are said to be released in Pakistan this year although there are still a few options in there that are just a rumor though some options do have a very good chance of coming to the Pakistan market.
These options include cars like the Hyundai Tucson or Sonata since the company just started production of vehicles in Pakistan in partnership with Nishat Group and recently started the production of their H-100 pickup truck in a factory in Faisalabad. However, let’s move on the complete list of these cars.

List of cars coming to Pakistan in 2020
Toyota Yaris
Update [March 2020]: Proton Saga and Proton X70 SUV to be introduced in Pakistan.
This needs to come first on the list since there are rumors that the Indus Motor Company might be replacing one of the most popular vehicles it has, the Toyota Corolla and introducing The Toyota Yaris in its place. It should be noted that there are only plans to replace the 1.3 litre variants of Corolla (both XLi and GLi) and the 1.6 litre and 1.8 litre GLi and Altis variants will remain unaffected.

Hyundai Tucson
The second car is the list needs to be the Hyundai Tucson since Nishat Hyundai Motors have already said that they plan of introducing a new passenger cars this year and they have already started the local production of their H-100 pickup truck at a factory in Faisalabad. The Hyundai Tucson comes in most markets with a 2.0 litre engine although like with every other car, it should be assumed that if this is released in Pakistan, it will have less features then the international variants and probably a smaller engine.

Hyundai Sonata
This is the third car that needs to be mentioned on the list and also being a Hyundai there is a good probability that it will be launched in Pakistan this year since the company claims that it plans on introducing a few passenger cars in Pakistan this year.
The Sonata comes in two variants in most markets that include a 2.5 litre engine and a 1.6 litre engine although it is still too early to assume what variant is going to be released in Pakistan.

Proton X70
Proton is a Malaysian car manufacturer and based on some reports, there are plans by the company to launch three cars in the Pakistani market this year. Prototype had come into an agreement with Pakistan’s Al-Haj group last year and the company said that it was planning on introducing cars in the Pakistani Market. According to reports, Proton plans on setting up a factory in Karachi in partnership with Al-Haj Group.
The Proton X70 SUV is one of the cars that are said to be introduced in Pakistan this year. The car is powered by a 1.8 L TGDi engine and comes in both two wheel and four-wheel drive. Although it is still to early to assume which variant is going to be launched in Pakistan if it actually comes out.
Proton Exora
This is said to be the second Proton car that is going to be released in Pakistan this year. The car is powered by a 1.6 litre DOCH 14 engine. The car also comes in a turbo variant and has a few transmission options as well including 5 speed manual, 4 speed automatic and a CVT auto transmission. However, at this point there is no news on the variant that will be introduced here if it does actually come out.
Proton Saga
The third Proton car that is said to be released in Pakistan is the Proton Saga that is powered by a 1.3 litre engine and seems to be the most likely car that will be introduced here in competition with the 1.3 litre Toyota Corolla or Yaris and the Honda City 1.3 litre variant which are the two most sedans with a 1.3 litre engine.

Changan CX70T
According to reports, Master Motors plans on introducing this SUV in Pakistan this year. Based on the reports, this is one of the cars coming to Pakistan in 2020. The CX70T is powered by a 1.5 litre 4 cylinder engine with both manual and automatic transmission options and has a seating capacity of seven and the car will likely compete with the Honda BR-V which is also a seven seater and comes with a 1.5 litre manual or automatic transmission.
Ghandhara Nissan JAC T6
This is a pickup that is said to be introduced in Pakistan in 2020 according to some reports and is powered by a 2.0L turbo diesel engine.
Borgward BX5
There aren’t that many reports supporting the release of this car and at this point this is still just a rumor. The car has a 1.4 litre two wheel drive and 2.0 litre all wheel drive variant. However, there are no reports or much more details on the release of this car in Pakistan.
