The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced four days bank holidays on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr 2022. In a notification, the SBP said that all banks will remain closed from 2 May 2022 (Monday) to 5 May 2022 (Thursday).
The bank holidays announcement was made in response to the Federal Government’s decision to announce four days public holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr. However, the four public holidays, coupled with Sunday, will make a total of five holidays for people across the country.

It is pertinent to mention that the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has also announced a bank holiday on 1 May 2022 on account of Labor Day. However, the bank holiday happens to fall on Sunday, which is already a day off for the banking sector throughout the country.
