SBP Will Not Issue New Currency Notes on Eid ul Fitr

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that it will not issue new and fresh currency notes this year on Eid-ul-Fitr 2023.

It is pertinent to mention that State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) usually issued new currency notes for citizens on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

However, the central bank has said that it will not be issuing new currency notes for the general public, which is a huge let down for citizens as everyone used fresh notes for distributing Eidi (Cash Gift) amongst children.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee (RHC) is set to meet on 20th April for the Shawwal moon sighting to confirm the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan. However, the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council Secretary General, Khalid Aijaz has ruled out possibility of moon sighting on 20^th April.

He added that Eid-ul-Fitr will is expected to fall on 22^nd April this year (2023).
