KARACHI: Toyota Indus Motors Company has shut down the production of the vehicle for the remaining days of September due to continuing fall in demand.
IMC Toyota shuts down the production plant bringing to the total number of “non-production days” (NPDs) to 15 in the current month.
According to the IMC Officials, said already observed 8 NPDs in July and 11 to 12 NPDs in August.
“Sky rocketing prices on rupee-dollar account, parity coupled with additional custom duty on imported parts and raw material and high interest rates had price most of their vehicles out of the market. For the month of September half of the month is off.”– IMC Official.
The plant is running at 50 percent capacity, Toyota Indus Motors Company (IMC) has over 3,000 unsold vehicles piled up at the dealership across the country.
It is expected that Atlas Honda and as Pak Suzuki halts the products of some vehicles.
