Now Pakistanis can get Canadian Student Visa in 20 days. The Canadian Government has announced to expand its Student Direct Stream (SDS) programme for international students.
Pakistan has been included in the list of eligible countries for faster processing through Student Direct Stream.
The SDS includes the following countries now
- China
- India
- Pakistan
- The Philippines or
- Vietnam
According to a press release issued on July 26, the Canadian Immigration Department has expanded the Student Direct Stream programme to include international students from Pakistan.
Most of the SDS applications are processed within 20 calendar days. Some applications may take a longer time.
For faster processing, the students must meet all the eligibility and provide their biometrics as soon as possible.

For residents of Pakistan, Following Instructions Are Given To Apply Online for Canadian Student Visa
You must apply online. You need an account to apply online.
You can use your account to:
- pay your fees
- submit your application
- check the status of your application
When you apply, make sure you:
- meet the eligibility for faster processing
- include all the documents you need
- follow your visa office instructions, in case you need to provide other documents:

Bring Your Spouse or Child
The press release also states the applicant can bring their spouse, partner or child with them through faster processing on a visit visa, work permit and study permit.

High Commissioner of Pakistan to Canada Raza Bashir Tarar welcomed the decision of the Canadian government for inclusion of Pakistani international students into the programme as it would facilitate the students desiring to study in Canada.
International students graduating from Canada are often eligible for the post-graduation work permit. With Canadian education and work experience, international students can apply for permanent residency through Express Entry, the Provincial Nominee Program or the Atlantic Immigration Pilot.
As many as 54,000 former students transitioned to permanent residence in 2018.
