China AUN scholarship 2021-2022 is open for ASEAN member countries only. Chinese Government Scholarship under AUN Programme will fully cover the student’s expenses including tuition fee waiver, accommodation, stipends and comprehensive medical insurance.
The China AUN Scholarship only supports graduate students (Masters and Doctoral programs). The deadline to apply for ASEAN University Network (AUN) Secretariat is 18 February 2021.
Supporting Category, Duration And Instruction Language
- Supporting Category: Master and Doctoral programs
- Duration: Master’s students no more than 3 academic years and doctoral students for no more than 4 academic years. It covers major studies and Chinese language studies.
- Instruction Language; Scholarship students can register for either the Chinese-taught program or the English-taught program if applicable. Program Search (visit Study in China or Campus China ) to find the program and university you’re interested in.
Scholarship Coverage
The full scholarship covers:
- tuition waiver,
- accommodation,
- stipend, and
- comprehensive medical insurance.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be a citizen of an ASEAN member country (Brunei, Cambodia,
Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam), and
be in good health. - The requirements for applicants’ degree and age are that applicants must be:
- A bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for the master’s
programs; - A master’s degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for the doctoral
programs.
Application Procedure
Candidates can either:
o Apply to the AUN Secretariat for CGS opportunity without any pre-admission
Letter. In this case candidates can select their preferred institutes during online
applications process.
o Apply to your target university for the pre-admission Letter once recommended by
the dispatching authorities as an eligible candidate.
- Complete the online application procedure at CGS Information Management System for
International Students (visit CGS Information Management System or
Campus China and click “Application Online” to log in).
Please note that AUN’s Program Category is ‘Type A’ and Agency Number is ‘00005.’
Once the correct Agency Number is entered, the name of the agency will automatically
emerge. Instructions of the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System
and Agency Number is provided on page 5. - Complete the online Application Form for the Chinese Government Scholarship, and print
one hard copy. - Submit ONE set of the paper application forms and other supporting documents to the
AUN Secretariat by 18 February 2021. - Only successful candidates will be informed by email by early August 2021.
*NOTE
Only applications of recommended candidates from the AUN Secretariat will be considered.
No other applications or individual application directly sent to CSC will be considered.
Candidates holding the Pre-admission Letter will be placed in the host university; those
without the Pre-admission Letter should accept CSC’s placement of university

- Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (written in Chinese or English)
- Copy of Passport HOME PAGE
- Notarized highest diploma a (written in Chinese or English)
- Academic transcripts (written in Chinese or English)
- A Study Plan or Research Proposal (written in Chinese or English) minimum of 800 words.
- Two Recommendation Letters (written in Chinese or English)
- Applicants for music studies are requested to submit their own works. Applicants for the arts programs must submit their own works which include two sketches, two color printings, and two other works.
- Applicants under the age of 18 should submit valid documents of their legal guardians in China.
- The copy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form
- Non-criminal record report
- Pre-admission Letter from Chinese Government Scholarship universities (if applicable)
- Language qualification certificate e.g. HSK Certificate, IELTS or TOFEL (if applicable)
