ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the Inter-Provincial Education Ministers via video-link will discuss about schools reopening across the country tomorrow (4th January 2021).
The Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood will preside over the meeting which will discuss the prevailing coronavirus situation and the reopening of educational institution across the country.
The Inter-Provincial Education Ministers’ Conference (IPEMC) will also discuss about the new academic session from August 2021 and the reduction of spring and summer vacations as students studies have been greatly affected because of the pandemic.
Earlier, the federal government suggested that reopening of schools across the country will commence from 25th January 2021 in a phase-wise manner.

According to the details, the government suggested reopening of educational institutes in a phase-wise manner from 25th January with middle and secondary classes commencing from 4th February 2021.
Schools across Pakistan were shut on 26th November 2020 as increasing cases of coronavirus were reported as the second wave of infections hit the country.
Education ministers in their meeting had initially decided to reopen schools from 10th January 2021. However, the final decision will be taken tomorrow regarding the matter.
