ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Medical Commssion (PMC) has clarified that foreign students will be exempted from MDCAT exams for 2020-21 academic year.
Students who have completed their Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) from abroad can submit their SAT-II results instead of MDCAT according to the official announcement by PMC.
Furthermore, the PMC has announced that English has been removed as a subject for students who have completed their high school from an institution or country where English is used as the primary language.
Moreover, the following weightage will apply according to the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC):
- Biology will be given 40 percent weightage
- Chemistry will be given 35 percent weightage
- Physics and Mathematics will be given 25 percent weightage in total.
These decisions have been made by the PMC taking into consideration the coronavirus pandemic and the months long closure of education institutions affecting studies and keeping students from attempting their SAT-I this year.
