HEC Offers Free Coursera Courses Under New Initiative

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced the Digital Learning and Skills Enrichment Initiative (DLSEI), which offers up to 6,000 free Coursera courses to enable Pakistani students to acquire new skills.

About DLSEI

The Digital Learning & Skills Enrichment Initiative (DLSEI) by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) intends to enhance online learning and skills development among passionate students.

They will be able to access courses and certifications from top universities of the world and get an opportunity to enroll themselves in the highest-ranked and most expensive online courses.

The DLSEI program will enhance students’ skills & abilities, and further equip them in a better way for practical life challenges, self-development, etc.

About Coursera

Coursera is an online learning platform founded by Stanford professors Andrew Ng and Daphne Koller that offers courses, specializations, and degrees.

Coursera works with universities and other organizations to offer online courses, specializations, and degrees in a variety of subjects, such as engineering, humanities, medicine, biology, social sciences, mathematics, business, computer science, digital marketing, data science, and others.

Registration

Students from public and private sector universities can grab the opportunity of acquiring free of licenses and gain access to over 6,000 courses and certifications from top-ranked global universities and companies.

To register for HEC’s Digital Learning and Skills Enrichment Initiative (DLSEI), you need to fill out the registration form (available here) and follow the process as mentioned below:

• The focal person from your university will verify your application (In case your application is not approved, please contact your focal person.
• After verification, you will receive an invitation link from Coursera.
• By clicking on the invitation link, you will be redirected to the Coursera portal where you can create an account on Coursera (if not already created).
• After creating an account on HEC’s Coursera portal, you can start enrolling in 6,000+ free courses, professional certificates, learning tracks and specialization.
• Start learning.
