Winter vacations for primary schools in the summer zone of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have been extended until January 13 due to the cold weather. The summer zone includes areas like Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Kohat, and adjacent districts.
As per the notification from the KP Elementary and Secondary Education Department, all schools in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) summer zone will resume classes on January 8, 2024, with a change in timings.
The schools KP will now open at 9:30 am instead of 8:00 am to avoid the morning chill after students return from winter vacations.
Meanwhile, the winter zone, encompassing mountainous regions like Chitral, Swat, Upper Dir, Kohistan, Battagram, Hazara region, and Malakand, will maintain their previous schedule. Winter zone schools are set to reopen on February 1, 2024, after a two-month break.
