ISLAMABAD: The National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) has recommending early and extended school winter vacations due to rising number of coronavirus cases in the country.
A meeting of all provincial education ministers has been scheduled on November 16th to discuss the coronavirus situation in the education sector.
The recommendation has been made after the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) took notice of the “increasing positivity ratio in educational institutions” and emphasized on the need to stop the trend.

“The forum, taking into account rising positivity ratio, suggested for an early and extended school winter vacations to reduce impact of disease spread and ensure safety and health of students,” said the NCOC statement.
Previously, the education ministers decided to keep schools in Pakistan open and cancelled winter vacations to make up for the time wasted during the initial lockdown to curb the coronavirus pandemic.

The next meeting of all education ministers was originally scheduled for December but to the uptick in coronavirus cases, the NCOC has recommended education minister to meet on November 16 and decide on early and extended school winter vacations to reduce the spread of coronavirus in educational insittutes.
