The Islamabad administration has announced that O-Level and A-Level examinations will proceed as scheduled despite the upcoming public holidays for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. The federal government has declared a three-day holiday from October 14 to October 16, during which all local exams have been postponed in the capital.
Key Details of the Examination Schedule
Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz has confirmed that special permissions have been granted for these international exams to continue. Three examination centers will remain open specifically for the O-Level and A-Level exams. These centers are located in:
- E-11
- Noor Mahal (GT Road)
- H-8
Students and their parents are advised to note that these examination centers will be operational, while other educational institutions will observe holidays during the same period.

Extended Holiday Notification for Rawalpindi and Islamabad
The federal government has issued a notification regarding public holidays from October 14 to October 16 for Islamabad and Rawalpindi due to the SCO summit. In addition, Rawalpindi will experience closures extending from October 12 to October 16, affecting venues such as marriage halls, snooker clubs, and cash-and-carry stores.
The Supreme Court of Pakistan has also officially recognized these public holidays to accommodate the summit’s security measures and facilitate the smooth conduct of international delegations.
