The government of Punjab adjusted school timings for the hotter summer weather to keep children and staff safe from the scorching heat.
According to the new school timings, schools in Punjab will be open from 7:45 am to 1:15 pm, with classes ending at 11:45 pm on Fridays.
Moreover, the double-shift schools will open from 7:45 am to 12:15 pm and then again from 12:45 pm to 5:15 pm, according to the notice issued by the provincial education department.
Previously, school hours changed for winter from February to April 15 because of the cold. Boys’ schools in the capital and other cities had classes from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, and girls’ schools from 8:15 am to 2:15 pm.
