The Government of Punjab has extended holidays for schools, colleges, and universities, which will remain closed for two more days 11 and 12 May 2023 (Thursday and Friday) in light of the law and order situation of the country.
Protests have broken out across the country after Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Imran Khan, was arrested by Rangers personnel, who acted on the instruction of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
The PTI Chief was arrested in the Al-Qadir Trust case, which alleges that Imran Khan, along with his wife and other PTI leaders, had made a settlement between the PTI government and a property tycoon, which caused a loss of nearly £190 billion to the national exchequer.
It light of the protests that are taking place in major cities, the Government of Punjab has announced two more holidays for schools, colleges, and universities, which will remain closed on 11 and 12 May 2023 (Thursday and Friday).
Exams Cancelled
Furthermore, the notification issued by the Higher Education Department of Punjab states that papers of Secondary School First Annual Examination 2023 (Part-I) to be held on 11th and 12th May (Thursday and Friday) have been postponed.
However, the department did not reveal the new dates for the examination yet.
