The caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab Mohsin Naqvi has finally extended winter vacations for students up to class 1 due to the prevailing cold weather across the province.
According to the interim Chief Minister, the winter vacations have been extended by another week for early grade students, while examinations have been postponed and rescheduled due to rise in pneumonia cases.
The announcement was made during an emergency meeting at the Children’s Hospital in Lahore today. As per the Chief Minister, eight out of ten children are reported to be suffering from pneumonia.
Meanwhile, the schools have been reopened for all other classes with revised timings to protect students from the cold wave.
