The Government of Punjab has cancelled the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Part I (aka Matric) exams that were scheduled to be held on 11 and 12 May 2023 (Thursday and Friday).
In a notification issued by the Higher Education Department of Punjab, it was stated that all schools, colleges, and universities will remain closed in the province on 11 and 12 May 2023 (Thursday and Friday).
“Papers of Secondary School First Annual Examination 2023 (Part-I) to be held on 11th-12th May (Thursday and Friday) are hereby postponed till further orders.” said the notification.

The decision to postpone the matric exams has been taken in new of the law and order situation of the country following arrest of Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman, Imran Khan, by Rangers personnel from Islamabad High Court (IHC).
