LAHORE: The Punjab Education Department (HED) has decided to reduce Intermediate syllabus (Inter Smart Syllabus 2020) for the academic year 2021 on account of the three months delay in classes due to the coronavirus lockdown.
The Punjab Education Department (HED) has instructed the Textbook Board to revise and reduce the Intermediate syllabus (Inter Smart Syllabus 2020) which is very difficult to complete since the academic year will now span just over 6 months.

HED has set up a special committee to headed by MD Punjab Textbook Board (PTB) which is responsible for working of the new syllabus as previously done for all classes leading up to Matric.
Educational institutions across the country have opened in phases last month after a 6 months closure that resulted from the coronavirus lockdown.
There have been some fake reports of schools being shut again due to rising number of coronavirus cases but Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas has clarified that all such news is fake and classes will continue as scheduled.
