The Punjab Government has placed a restriction on co-curricular activities in schools across seven districts in the province where there is a high rate of COVID-19 infections.
Punjab Education Minister Dr Murad Raas shared a notification regarding ban on co-curricular activities in Punjab schools across the seven districts where positivity rate of coronavirus cases in more than 20.
“Restrictions on Co-Curricular activities in the 7 Districts stated in the notification due to COVID 19.” said Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas on Twitter. “No Gala, sports activities or public gatherings.” he continued.
The notification itself states that “no co-curricular activity (i.e sports etc) shall be conducted in those districts where COVID-19 positivity ratio is more than 20 cases.”
These districts include:
- Lahore
- Gujrat
- Multan
- Rahim Yar Khan
- Sialkot
- Rawalpindi
- Faisalabad
The notification also urged the schools to adhere to coronavirus standard operating procedures (SOPs) in “letter and spirit” as previously conveyed to avoid further spread of the deadly infection through the student population.
