The Government of Punjab revised the winter vacations schedule for educational institutions, including schools, colleges and universities, in the province. In a notification, the Provincial Government has moved the winter vacations in Punjab to January 2022 for those districts that are not witnessing high levels of smog.
According to the notification, the winter vacations in Punjab will be observed in two separate phases. In the first phase, the winter holidays will be observed from 23 December 2021 to 6 January 2022 in districts experiencing high levels of smog. The educational institutes in these districts will reopen for normal academic activities from 7 January 2022.
The 24 districts in the first phase of winter holidays in Punjab include, Kasur, Sialkot, Narowal, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Pakpattan, Sheikhupura, Okara, Vehari, Khanewal, Lahore, Khushab, Hafizabad, Multan, Lodhran, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Sargodha, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Nankana Sahib and Jhang.
In the second phase, the winter vacations in Punjab will take place from 3 January 2022 to 13 January 2022 in the remaining districts, including Jhelum, Mianwali, Attock, Muzaffargarh, Chakwal, Bhakkar, Rawalpindi, Rajanpur, Layyah, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Chiniot.

It is pertinent to mention that Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas had earlier announced winter vacations in the province from 23 December 2021 to 6 January 2022.
Furthermore, the Sindh Government has also revised its dates for winter vacations in the province.
