The Government of Punjab has decided to reduce the school syllabus for class 1 to 10 for the current academic year by 20 percent.
According to the details, the School Education Department of Punjab has begun the province of reducing school syllabus for students in class 1 to matric in view of the delayed start to the ongoing academic year.
The move has been welcomed by teachers, students and their parents, who say that students would have been overburdened by the full syllabus.
The School Education Department will make a final announcement after consulting all the boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISEs).
It is pertinent to mention that Government of Punjab is also working on a law to regulate all the affairs of private education institutions, including their fee structure.
According to the details, the law is expected to go into effect as soon as the Punjab Assembly passes the draft for the constitution of the Punjab Private Educational Institutions Authority.
