Schools in Punjab Will Remain Open on Saturday

In a recent announcement, Amir Mir, the caretaker Information Minister of Punjab, emphasized that public schools in Punjab are scheduled to stay open on Saturday, December 2nd, 2023.

Mir, sharing the update on X (formerly known as Twitter), also mentioned that winter vacations for public schools are set to begin from December 18th, 2023, to January 1st, 2024.

Furthermore, Mir assured that markets, shops, and restaurants will continue their regular operations throughout Punjab over the weekend, on both Saturday and Sunday.

Looking ahead to the upcoming week, the minister mentioned that measures will be taken in response to the prevailing smog conditions in the province.

Earlier, it was reported that schools in Punjab will remain closed on Saturday; however, the provincial government seems to have reconsidered the decision.
