Abdullah Siddique, 2 other Pakistanis make it to Forbes 30 under 30

The exceptionally talented Pakistani singer and songwriter Abdullah Siddique, virtual artist and fashion designer Misha Japanwala and government official Hannia Zia has successfully made it to Forbes 30 under 30 Asia list, uplifting country’s name on International platform and making the entire nation proud.

Pakistan’s acclaimed singer and music composer Abdullah Siddique names among the youngest and brightest musicians of Pakistan. The singer rose to eminence with his original soundtrack ‘Resistance’ on Nescafe Basement’s Season 5 in 2019. And, owing to his mesmeric vocals and radiating flair of singing, Abdullah was immediately recognized as the emerging artists of musical universe.

So far, Abdullah Siddique has released three albums and dozens of melodies, majority of which earned wide accolades. And with his absorbing soundtracks, the Preacher’s singer had also clutched the nominations for ‘Song of the Year’ and ‘Best Emerging Talent in Music’ at Lux Style Awards.

From testing his vocals with Michael Jackson covers on old German audio software, to earning a section in prestigious American business magazine, Abdullah Siddiqui has worked truly hard to achieve the milestone, and deserves all praises.

Some of Abdullah’s highly cherished soundtracks are Telescope heart, Sober, Be Myself, Diamond and Dynamite and Frontline to name a few.

Hence, admiring the young Pakistani talent, the high-status American publication Forbes has included Abdullah in its Forbes 30 under 30 Asia list. Under the portrait of ‘paper skin’ singer, the magazine wrote,

“Siddiqui began producing English-language electronic music at the age of 11 and started releasing it as an independent artist when he was 16. The native of Lahore has appeared on Nescafé Basement, a Pakistani TV series that showcases the music of underground artists. He has written and produced music for some prominent singers in Pakistan, including Fawad Khan, Meesha Shafi, Shamoon Ismail and Aima Baig.”

Abdullah’s achievement came as a moment of proudness for the whole nation. Many showbiz celebrities like Meesha Shafi, Ushna Shah, Ayesha Omar, Shamoon Ismail and Abdullah Qureshi were also quick to congratulate the young pop star.

Misha Japanwala

Moreover, second Pakistani to earn the honorable rank in Forbes 30 under 30 Asia list is Pakistani fashion designer and virtual artist Misha Japanwala. Misha has dedicated her art to disregarded female rights in Pakistan.

Misha Japanwala creates personalized sculpted breastplates and photographs these on otherwise nude female models. As said by Japanwala her signature art ‘Azaadi’ speaks in in response to troubles like honor killings, domestic violence and the societal pressures faced by women in Pakistan.

Additionally, Misha Japanwala maintains, her aim in ‘Azaadi’ collection was to subvert the male gaze, reclaim the art related to the female body from the male perspectives and instead depict from the feminist viewpoint. Misha’s masterpieces were also featured in Vogue and V Magazine.

About the gifted feminist artist, Forbes read,

“Japanwala is a visual artist and designer whose work addresses issues such as domestic violence and honor killings in Pakistan. She collaborated with Gigi Hadid last year on a sculptural mask for a special issue of V Magazine that the supermodel guest-edited. Another of Japanwala’s works, a collection of breastplates and other wearable body castings, was featured in a six-page spread in Vogue Spain in 2018, modeled by French model Cindy Bruna.”

Furthermore, the third Pakistani to acquire a place in Forbes 30 under 30 Asia list is not an artist this time, but a political official Hannia Zia, working wholeheartedly for digital Pakistan.

About Hannia Zia, the outlet stated,

“Zia was one of the lead product managers of Pakistan’s pandemic tech response under the Digital Pakistan initiative. She launched a WhatsApp bot to spread Covid-19 awareness in seven local languages that has connected to 500,000 users and was endorsed by Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, as well as a Covid-19 ringtone, which has been heard by 113 million Pakistanis. Zia also grew the Health Ministry’s Facebook page a hundred-fold to 1.8 million followers. Prime Minister Imran Khan recognized her for her contributions with a WHENTK award. A former Google product manager with several patents under her name, Zia studied computer science and psychology at Yale.”
