Aik Hai Nigar: Official Teaser released by ISPR

ISPR has released the first official teaser for Aik Hai Nigar on the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day. The story is based on the true story of the Pakistan Army’s first female Three Star General – Lieutenant General Nigar Johar.

The inspirational true story will reflect the life and career of Lieutenant General Nigar Johar.

The Pakistan Army Public Relations (ISPR) releasing the teaser on its youtube channels states Lieutenant General Nigar Johar is a name synonymous with strength, determination, and professional excellence.

Aik Hai Nigar is a tribute to one of the biggest symbols of women’s empowerment in Pakistan.

Mahira Khan will be seen playing the role of Lieutenant General Nigar Johar. The audience will be able to see their favorite actress Mahira Khan in Pakistan Army Uniform.

Mahira Khan is Pakistan’s top actress with a great number of fan following to her credit. The beautiful and charming is loved by all and has been entertaining her fans on screen for a long time.

Taking to her Instagram account Mahira has expressed that she is honored to be playing the character of the woman she admires the most. She writes :

General Lieutenant General Nigar Johar

Lieutenant General Nigar Johar is Pakistan’s first woman to reach the rank of Lieutenant General and third to reach the rank of major-general. She belongs to Pakistan Army Medical Corps. She serves the Pakistan army as the surgeon general.

Lieutenant General Nigar Johar was born in Panjpir Village in District Sawabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Her father also served Pakistan Army, he was an army Colonel. Her parents along with her two younger sisters died in a car accident in 1989. Her father Col. Qadir served in the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and her uncle retired Maj. Mohammad Aamir also a former Apk Army officer also served in the ISI.

She completed her schooling at Presentation Convent Girls High School Rawalpindi in 1978 and joined Army Medical College in 1981 and graduated in 1985. She completed the examination for the membership of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan in 2010 and in 2012 completed her diploma in advanced Medical Administration through the Armed Forces Post Graduate Medical Institute. In 2015 she received a Master of Public Health degree from the same institute.

Military Career

• 30 June 2020: Promoted to Lieutenant General and appointed as Surgeon of Pakistan Army.
• 2015: Was deputy commandant of the Combined Military Hospital Rawalpindi.
• 9 February 2017: Promoted to the rank of Major General
• Also served as Vice Principal of Army Medical College.
• Also served as the commandant of Pak-Emirates Military Hospital, Rawalpindi.
