Urduflix’s next web series Aurat Gardi is based on Aurat March

Pakistan based OTT platform UrduFlix has recently dropped the trailer for its forthcoming web series Aurat Gardi, and by the looks of it, the storyline staunchly revolves on the controversial and currently in talks ‘Aurat March’ subject. Starring the veteran actress Javeria Saud as the audacious feminist lead, the screenplay is scheduled to be premiered on April 2^nd, 2021, only on UrduFlix.

With the escalating success of OTT platforms all over the globe, Pakistan also followed in the footsteps of seasons and series, and launched its first ever digital web, named UrduFlix on 26th February. The platform has been brought to life be Emax Media with the aim to promote the beautiful and exceptional Urdu content. Known as the local version of Netflix, it includes original Urdu feature films, web series, documentaries, highly celebrated Pakistani dramas and much more worth-binging titles under its roof.

So far, UrduFlix houses three original Urdu series. Titled Raaz starring Hareem Shah, Dulhan aur Aik Raat starring the splendid Alizeh Shah and Mishal Khan’s Lifafa Dunya, the drama series have been garnering massive accolades since their release, which adds to UrduFlix’s successful birth.

About UrduFlix’ Aurat Gardi

Continuing the legacy of innovative Urdu content, UrduFlix has added another title to its spine-chilling series’ lineup, titled Aurat Gardi. The coming to age series endorses the highly debated “My body, my will” motto as its foundation, and already has the people talking.

Moreover, the upcoming screenplay will strictly follow the contentious ‘Aurat March’ timeline, as it’s quite evident from the first look, where female bulks in the form of rallies, holding placards can be spotted. Other than that, the trailer also supports the highly recognized feminists’ slogan “Mera jism meri Marzi” in the voice of leading actress, which gives us the idea of her character to be of a feminist’s spearhead, fighting against patriarchal violence.

Aurat Gardi has been penned down by Mansoor Saeed and directed by Awais Sulaman, whereas Rao Ayaz Shahzad and Farhan Gauher serve as producer and executive producer respectively.

Cast

Aurat Gardi features the old-stager actress and producer Javeria Saud as the energetic female central, whereas Ally Khan has courageously opted for the antagonist, anti-feminist male character.
