Hollywood star Chadwick Boseman has died at the age of 43 after a four year long battle with colon cancer according to the actor’s social media accounts which were updated with the news of his passing.
Chadwick Boseman played many iconic roles over the years such as Jackie Robinson and James Brown before finding fame as T’Challa aka Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to details revealed by the family his family and publicist on the actor’s social media accounts, Boseman was diagnosed colon cancer in 2016 and many of his films like Marshall, Da 5 Bloods and Black Bottom were all filmed during and in between countless surgeries.
The statement on social media further reads:
It was an honor of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther.
The character of T’Challa was introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War and became even more famous after the release of Black Panther two years later.
Black Panther was the first superhero film to be nominated for the best picture at the Oscars.
Chadwick Boseman died at his home with his wife and family by his side and his family thanked fans for their love and prayers according to his publicist in the statement on his social media account that read:
The family thanks you for your love and prayers, and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time.
Many of his co-star’s took to social media expressing grief of his passing. Chris Evans who worked along side Boseman as Steve Rogers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe took to Twitter stating:
I’m absolutely devastated. This is beyond heartbreaking. Chadwick was special. A true original. He was a deeply committed and constantly curious artist. He had so much amazing work still left to create. I’m endlessly grateful for our friendship. Rest in power, King.
Chris Hemsworth who worked with Chadwick Boseman in several Avengers’ movies of the MCU took to Instagram expressing his sorrow on the actor’s passing stating:
Gonna miss you mate. Absolutely heartbreaking. One of the kindest most genuine people I’ve met. Sending love and support to all the family xo RIP
Even Marvel Entertainment’s own Twitter account posted saying:
Our hearts are broken and our thoughts are with Chadwick Boseman’s family. Your legacy will live on forever. Rest In Peace.
US Presidential canidate Joe Biden also took to Twitter about the actor’s passing and stated:
The true power of @ChadwickBoseman was bigger than anything we saw on screen. From the Black Panther to Jackie Robinson, he inspired generations and showed them they can be anything they want — even super heroes. Jill and I are praying for his loved ones at this difficult time.
