Globally acclaimed Korean boy band BTS, with their latest English single “Butter,” has smashed their own record of most YouTube views in 24 hours, after the pop song garnered more than 100 million views in less than a day of its premiere. The soundtrack had crossed approximately 113 million views by midnight, according to the platform’s public views counter.
The critically popular seven membered South Korean boys band BTS has a history of achieving one after another milestone with their songs and albums. Hence, the group, comprised of J-Hope, RM, Jin, Suga, V, Jimin, and Jungkook owns several accolades in terms of viewership.
Last year, the Pop band had dropped their first English Language single Dynamite that was an immense success, and shattered all the viewership records, escalating to number one on billboard.
BTS ‘Dynamite’ had become the fastest music video in the history of YouTube to record a total of 100 million views. The song had registered 101.1 million views in its initial 24 hours, confirmed the video sharing platform, setting the record for the most-viewed music video in YouTube’s history. And, owing to Dynamite, BTS had made history by becoming the first Korean group to achieve No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100. Other than that, with the single, the group had earned their first Grammy nomination in the Top Group category.

However, after a year, the K-pop gang ‘BTS’ has outshined their own record with the breakthrough English single “Butter” that took over ‘Dynamite’ the instant it premiered.
The summer anthem by BTS, Butter had more than 3.89 million concurrent viewers during its debut. And, within an hour, it had surpassed 21 million views.
A few hours later, the melody crossed 100 million views, and collected 101.2 million views, marking the fastest viewed total in less than 24 hours. Hence, BTS still holds the title however, with “Butter” instead of Dynamite.
Moreover, the band will perform their chart-topping single ‘Butter’ for the first time at the upcoming “Billboard Music Awards” on May 23. They are nominated for four categories at this year’s award, titled ‘Top Duo/Group,’ ‘Top Song Sales Artist,’ ‘Top Social Artist,’ and ‘Top Selling Song.’
