The television series is centered around Sakina, who leaves her home with her daughter fleeing from her husband due to him domestically abusing her. Moreover, drama serial Raqeeb Se features star-studded casts, with showbiz veterans like Noman Ejaz, Sania Saeed, Iqra Aziz, Hadiqa Kiyani and Faryal Mehmood in lead roles.
Faryal Mehmood portrays the character of Insha, who is a daughter to Nauman Ejaz’s depicted Maqsood. So far, Insha is presented as simple and humble, yet unwilling to accept her father’s long lost love.

Faryal Mehmood on her character of Insha
Faryal Mehmood is a versatile model turned actress, who has earned a notable status in dramas industry, owing to her hypnotic game of expressions. The actress is known to masterly adopt both antagonist and protagonist avatars, and whatever she portray, she does it flawlessly. Some of Faryal Mehmood’s highly celebrated screenplays include Laal Ishq, Muhabbat Tumse Nafrat Hai, Kabhi Band Kabhi Baja, Baba Jani, Kitni Girhain Baqi Hain, Daasi, and web series Enaaya among others.
Faryal Mehmood when talking about her role in presently trending drama serial Raqeeb Se, stated,
“The first time I read the script that was an experience within itself. When I read Insha’s character that was so me. I agreed that I can perform this character but honestly speaking it was very difficult. Insha has a really dark sense of humor. Insha is viewers perspective, she doesn’t know anything.”
She continued, talking about the problems she had to go through, due to lack of Urdu fluency.
“In between the shooting sometimes I got afraid and worried that I’m not acting and these other co-stars are such good actors. I was so scared the entire time while shooting. I did not study Urdu language after third grade so it was quite difficult for me to pronounce some of the lines in the script but our director Kashif Nisar was always there for us. He helped me to rehearse and read the script again and again so I could deliver my best.”
Faryal Mehmood furthered, “In the start everyone was like there are flaws in this drama serial and I was like no just wait and watch. I promise that there are no flaws in script.”
