Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has announced plans of launching a Pakistani version of Netflix, the world famous video streaming service.
According to the details provided, this Pakistani version of Netflix will be the country’s first ever OTT TV service that will be launched after approval from Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA).

PEMRA will prepare a set of guidelines on the type of content that will be allowed on the streaming service, the Pakistan version of Netflix will be available in PPP mode.
The federal minister made the announcement on Twitter saying:
We at @MinistryofST are all set to launch Pakistan’s first OTT Tv (Pak version of #Netflix) Technology part is complete have asked PEMRA to prepare a guideline on content and we will be all set to launch in PPP mode, it ll be just another humble contribution.
This Pakistani version of Netflix is based on the American subscription based streaming service offering a variety of TV shows and movies to users including some of its own productions.
There are other similar services like Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, Disney Plus and more but Netflix is by far the most popular streaming service providing a variety of TV shows and movies to users.
